Zyllio allows you to connect to and utilize data from Google Sheets. With this feature, you can retrieve and use spreadsheets directly within your application.
Connecting to Google Sheets
Open Zyllio Studio, go to the Settings tab in the left menu, select the Google Sheets option, and toggle the Enable button.
Next, click on the Connect button. This will open a window allowing you to select your Google account. Choose the Google account you want to use to access your Google Sheets. Once connected, you will see a status message indicating that the connection is successful: Connected.
Accessing Google Sheets
From the Database tab, click on the Import button to display external data sources, then select Sheets.
The External Sources Import Menu
The following window allows you to select the Google Sheets document and the specific sheet(s) you wish to import.
Once imported, you will have a new table.
A new table named Summary represents the imported Google Sheet.
Key Points
Google Sheets do not have built-in mechanisms to uniquely identify rows. To perform modification operations, the first column must define a unique identifier. If this is not the case, a warning will be displayed.
The first column must uniquely define each row.
The information can be a unique number, often used, or any text, as long as uniqueness is maintained.
Example :
The first column is unique
Formats
The date format must be YYYY-MM-DD
The decimal number format must be set to Text in the Sheet column and use the decimal point.
Google Sheets columns with formulas should not be used. They do not pose any issues for reading but may be overwritten during updates (Update-Row).
Limitations
Zyllio limits the number of Google Sheets columns to 52 (from A-Z and AA-AZ)
Structure Synchronization
When you make structural changes in your Google Sheets, such as adding columns, these changes will not appear in Zyllio.
To synchronize these changes, click the Refresh Structure button. Once the synchronization process is initiated, Zyllio will add and remove fields based on the changes.
Zyllio does not modify the structure of the columns in your Google Sheets.
Data Synchronization
Zyllio implements a data cache to improve access performance to Google Sheets.
As a result, changes made from Google Sheets or external automation may not be immediately visible in Zyllio. A delay of up to 1 minute may be necessary.
To force a refresh, click the Refresh Data button.
